Just Because

We haven’t been up to a lot lately because everyone is sick right now (thank you YMCA childcare) so this post is just because there are grandparents out there who like pictures.
Notice that Norah’s sleeves are pushed up on her jammies – she cannot stand to have sleeves past her elbows lately. No matter how tight her jammy shirts are the first thing she does is push up those sleeves.Being sick hasn’t stopped Alice from hanging out at the gym. She is so smiley.

Alice is 2 Months

Today at Target some ladies were oohing and awing at Alice and when they asked me how old she was I said “2 months” without hesitation. *sigh* I can’t believe I’m done responding in weeks. She had her two month appointment today and she weighed 12 pounds 13 ounces and supposedly she was 24 inches long. I’m a little skeptical because measuring a baby is not an exact science and I’m not sure if the nurse counted her hair. If she really is 24 inches that would mean she has grown a whopping 2 inches per month. Who does that?! Apparently babies. I really wanted to post a picture of Alice smiling. I was holding a mirror over her head and waiting for her to grin at herself and then trying to move it out of the way and take her picture before it faded but I wasn’t fast enough and after a while it just made her cry. I tried to get Norah to help me  . . . Then Bryan came home and I enlisted his help but as you can see she was tired of having her emotions toyed with.Look at this face – she was thinking “seriously people? I am the best baby ever: All I want is to do sleep and you are both so ungrateful.”

She really is a smiley baby though and has been in good spirits despite having a cold this past week.

The Era of Coordinating Dresses Begins!

It actually began last year with Christmas dresses but now it is in full swing. Thanks to their generous clothing benefactor (Mimi) there will be more pictures like this to come.
I’m so glad Norah enjoys dressing like Alice and I intend to take advantage while I can. I even was able to get Norah to wear a bow long enough to take this picture – after which she took off both her bow and Alice’s.
In other news: We spent Alice’s Christmas money on a baby gym. The rest of us have been devotedly exercising at the Y so we thought it only right Alice should also have a workout facility.Here she is doing some push upsShe loves it, I love it and Norah loves it. Actually, Norah has some baby gym envy – so I set up her tent today as a consolation.
I love my little Norah girl but January is just not her month – nor mine. We need more outside time. I’ve got my hopes set on an early spring this year.

Oh my. Hello there – where did you come from? Yes your quite right I “woke up.” I was just stretching and if you’ll excuse me a moment I’ll just throw on some jammies and then perhaps we could talk over a blanket in the living room.

Snow Day with Daddy

Norah is one of the few people I’ve met that enjoys having snowballs thrown at them. She would puff out her chest and say, “Daddy, throw the snowball at my soup(suit)”. By the way, Norah did not make either of the snowballs featured in this blog post.

We spent a lot of time with Mary. Norah had a hard time leaving. She may have felt a special bond after playing Mary in the Branch nativity.

Christmas comes in 2s

Grandpa Guy and Norah: Perfect playmates. Norah easily persuaded Grandpa Guy into almost any kind of playtime except for getting him to go to the pool with her.Mimi and Alice: Perfect opposites. While Mimi worked overtime to make Christmas magical for all of us vacationers, Alice just lazed about and slept the holiday away. Mimi was happy to accommodate this.Kimball and Bryan: Christmas Connoisseurs.
