Freya at 5 months

Freya was 5 months on Christmas Day. Here are some pictures of her from the week of Christmas in Norah’s pink bunting. I thought she looked so cute in this it made me *almost* wish we had more opportunities to put her in it. At 5 months Freya was just starting to cut her first teeth and there were a few occasions where we put her on her tummy, walked away, and returned to find her on her back.IMG_0581

Christmas in Virginia Part 3

IMG_1215 Setting out cookies and carrotsIMG_1225 Norah received lots of nice gifts but the only thing she asked for was an Elsa dress and wig. She wrote Santa several letters and always made it very clear that she needed the wig to go along with the dress. She was so concerned about that she even wrote and illustrated a letter on Christmas Eve. She loved the dress and wore pretty much it all day.IMG_1231IMG_1233 Bryan showing Freya some of her presentsIMG_1234 Baby Guy and Baby Freya in their matching reindeer jammiesIMG_0617 It’s preferable to have two grand-nuggets when you have two grandparentsIMG_1242 Alice’s favorite Christmas gift by far was a doll and a baby mosses basket Mimi made her. She hardly put it down after she opened itIMG_1248Saying “Thank you Mimi”IMG_1251 Susan’s older brother Stephen spent Christmas Day with usIMG_1253IMG_1255 I couldn’t decide which of these pictures to post of Uncle Stephen and Alice. I think they work best as stop motion animationIMG_1257 IMG_1258 IMG_1259IMG_1260 IMG_1262

Freya at 4 months

I’m enjoying Freya so much. We are on the go a lot so she takes most of her naps in the Ergo carrier with her head laid against my chest and I savor those naps. She is quite conversational and when we have the time to stop and give her attention she’ll respond with squeals and “take turns” talking.  Freya loves to see herself in the mirror and to play with toys. She spends a lot of time looking at her hands and trying to control them as she reaches for toys. We still swaddle her most nights for bedtime.

Freya has learned to grab her feet and she loves to do this – especially during diaper changes when her toes are freed from her jammies.IMG_1138 She now seems to enjoy tummy time more than being on her back. IMG_1147IMG_1149

IMG_1152IMG_1166She sticks her tongue out a lotIMG_1169She hasn’t rolled over from her tummy to her back yet but she rocks from side to side.IMG_1158IMG_1168 Freya attracts lots of admirers of her red hair at the grocery store and I notice that I’m also getting lots of comments about her chubby cheeks as well. I don’t think its possible to hold her without nuzzling and kissing those cheeks.IMG_1176IMG_1177IMG_1178IMG_1182
