What remains of the old San Geronimo Church which was built in 1619. It was destroyed in 1847 by the US Army. All the Puebloans who were able had fled to the mountains but those too young or old took shelter inside the church and were killed

Great photos. I have driven that route from Albuquerque/Taos to Vail several times. It is beautiful country. So much to see in the USA without leaving the country.
