Hicks Family Art Revival – Bryan Early Work

We’re having a bit of an art revival at the Hicks’ home. My New Year’s resolution this year was to do an art project every week. This inspired to dig out my old sketch book from when Lindsey and I first got married. Every spring I would have what we came to refer to as my “Existential Crisis.” I would decide for some reason that nothing I was learning in school was really fulfilling and I was just going through the motions. I would attempt several antidotes like trying to learn a new language (Russian was a popular one), computer programming, rock climbing and back in 2007 it was art. I guess I’m on a 7 year cycle. This year I wanted to get my art and the girls’ art up on the blog so that we would remember when they did things (and to give myself some accountability). I was pretty happy with these pastel pieces I did back in college and so I wanted to add them to the collection too. Spring comes early here in Texas as my allergies can attest to so here’s the start of Existential Crisis 2015.

That's a great frog allegory. This is something you should probably pursue.
