We celebrated Norah’s 5th birthday yesterday with her friends from preschool and a Madeline themed party. So many of her friends were able to come and we really appreciated them spending their Saturday morning with us. Norah’s preschool class is pretty much the same bunch of kids as last year so over the past two years we’ve really gotten to know these wonderful families and it is a wonderful community to be part of. Hope was Norah’s first guest to arrive and she was very excited for Norah. Norah had such a beautiful cake (made by Kelly Dolezal) I have to post a close up of it!The weather cooperated beautifully with cool 70 degree weather in the morning and we enjoyed playing on the playground and eating a French breakfast. We served croissants. nutella and blackberry jam, baguettes and double cream brie, watermelon and berries and Bryan made French toasted French bread on site with his coleman stove. We were having some deja vu to this partyThe decorations were from this Norah party so we were feeling pretty nostalgic for Stewart Park It was pretty amazing that most of the kids sat down together at the same time. The left side of the Table: David, Alice, Hope, Nicolasa, Slone, Raquel. The Right side: Benjamin, William, Norah, Carla, Natalie, Rabel. Not at the table and probably on the playground: Felix and OceanoAfter some time on the playground we sang happy birthday to Norah and she pretended to blow out her candles (it was too windy to light them) And just to prove I was at the party We also had a piƱata! Benjamin, Norah and David is under the blanket We gave out copies of the first Madeline story as a party favor and took our time leaving the park. Three families or so hung back with us because the kids were still playing well and the weather was perfect and we were just enjoying each other’s company. The party started at 10 am and I don’t think we left till 1:30 or later. It was a perfect day.
Norah came home from the party to a brand new bicycle from Mimi and Grandpa Guy. Norah is very excited about her new bike – especially because it has a handy backpack that hooks onto the front. Alice was equally excited to inherit Norah’s old bike. This picture is from Sunday morning.
